David Foster Wallace was a rare and stellar combination of a creative, wide ranging genius and sensitive heart trying to be more compassionate and more gentle.  This speech floats up to my consciousness most often when I’m in a grocery store line, filled with indignation and anger, and nudges me toward awareness.  I find it a truly beautiful explanation of the power of consciousness.
